crisp clear indian summer / bought two books at st.marks / lunch at my favourite japanese place / pictoplasma nyc, especially genevieve gauckler and mark jenkins / meet no. at visualizing marathon nyc / meet ky. at no.'s place //
bought a bottle and a box at brooklyn flea in fort green / checked out performa 11 and discovered the blue noses / great talks by jon burgerman, allyson mellberg taylor, raymond lemstra and joshua ben longo at pictoplasma nyc / supper club at whisk and ladle / dot-com-noveau-rich bday party somewhere in soho //
watched the marathon nyc / hasidic supermarket / walked along the marathon and got side-tracked down flushing avenue / chat with jim avignon / men kui tei again, this time with k. / dinner at b+m's place //

in turkey, i was told, people don't celebrate their birthdays anymore once they become adults. so they forget their date and year of birth. and therefore their age.

hokusai changed his name several times. each time he gave his name to his best student, found a new one for himself and entered a new artistic period.
