why doesn't anybody talk about this anymore?
secret admirer is, to me, one of the few things on the internet that is only possible thanks to the internet.
a lot of the other things are perfectioning or augmenting or combining things that had been around before.
emailing = kurznachrichten auf der rückseite der visitenkarte, mehrmals pro tag hin und her geschickt via laufbursche (vgl zb "Die Kameliendame" von Alexandre Dumas, 1840ies)
